Improve Your Organization

If you want a stress free, relaxed working environment, then you must get organized. Organization brings order to an otherwise chaotic existence.

Organization is not a difficult concept in theory or practice. It simply takes a little self discipline and effort. The rewards of being organized far outweigh the process of getting organized.

There are several things you can organize that will improve not only your working life, but also your mood and feelings as well as your motivation and performance. Not to mention your energy levels and health, which can also greatly benefit by you maintaining an organized life.

Organize Your Environment

By organizing your environment, you are removing distractions and things that have no benefit towards your goals and work. You may have rubbish and unnecessary items scattered around your work desk. Now is a great time to either dispose of these, or move them to another part of the house or office. If they don't benefit you in the task you are doing in that environment, then they simply do not need to be there.

Organize Your Computer

If you work on a computer, chances are you also use that same computer for recreational purposes. If this is the case, these recreational programs and files can become an ongoing and severe distraction to your work. I recommend moving all files that are not necessary to your productive work into a separate folder or drive on the computer. That is, all music files, pictures, games and anything else that is prone to distracting you from your work tasks. You will be amazed at just how much more work you complete when these distractions are out of sight.

Write Notes

You might have post-it notes stuck all over your computer, your desk, your chair and even on yourself. These notes contain daily reminders, tasks, phone numbers etc. Rather than using separate post-it notes, consider purchasing one thick notebook that will house ALL of your notes. A diary is even better, but it depends on your preferences. This way you will never lose a note again, and you will reduce all that paper clutter on and around your desk.

Schedule

Schedules and organization go hand in hand. You are organized if you can stick to your schedule. I prefer to write own all my tasks for a day on the night before. This way, when I wake I know exactly what I will be doing that day. Of course, extra jobs or ideas might pop up and that's fine. As long as the core of your daily tasks are planned, this is organization at its finest.

Being organized can have a dramatic effect on your productive work flow, and therefore your income and progress to achieving your goals. Consider becoming more organized in every facet of your life, and see how things improve for you.
